A Lesson in “History”
In 1355 AD, during the Khmer-Siam war, the Siamese army brought to battle tactics which would now be considered as war crimes. The Siamese army, under the leadership of General Sanambin Suvarnabhumi deployed a team to interrogate Khmer prisoners of war through torture. These torture techniques were largely untested, however early signs showed great promise as the Siamese Crushers, as they were called, managed to break the will of their prisoners within minutes. Screams of pain could be heard from kilometers around the torture bases.
However, after the first night of torture, the Siamese went to bed and awoke to find that not only had their torture techniques proven to have short lasting effects, the Khmer prisoners had actually become stronger, more agile than before capture. So thankful for their new found strength, the prisoners decided to join the Siamese ranks, on the promise of receiving more torture.
These torture techniques exist today, but are now referred to as “Thai massage.”
