Journals
To make it easier for readers to read the journals as they were intended, here are the entries, linked to in order. These journals are copies of copies. The originals were hand written, then they were copied down into Word. You may notice that earlier entries lack the spelling mistakes or latter entries, because I typed them out into the night. From the Word documents I have copied them here, though no spelling mistakes have been corrected as if I went through correcting them I’d be too likely to change words, and maybe lose the original meaning. So here, in all their unadulterated glory, are the journals.
I have put these journals up for various reasons. To some, they may just be a good read. To others, they may help answer questions they themselves have about missions, their purpose, or discerning God’s will. And to others, Youtube might have already given all it had. Whatever your reason for reading them though, I would like you to keep in mind that they are honest accounts of my trips, warts and all. If I was happy, I wrote it, if I was angry, I wrote it. Life is not all rainbows and buttercups. Even so, however, I wrote honestly, for the level I was at at the time. If I was mature in my thinking, you’d know it, if I was immature or overly sensitive, well, read between the lines. Sometimes I write negatively of others, sometimes the only clown is me.
The Trip
This journal was written on my first trip to Thailand which took place in January of 2008. This is where my call to mission in Thailand was pushed back to the forefront of my mind.
The Sequel
The sequel to ‘The Trip’, this journal was written on my second trip to Thailand which took place in a month spanning over July and August of 2008. This journal covers a slightly different experience to that of ‘The Trip’, as I had since acquired a VERY limited understanding of the Thai language which changed the entire dynamic of how I could relate. I’m a little older, I’m a little wiser. My call to mission in Thailand was further cemented on this trip, and I spent far more time with the kids.
